Exposed Sacred (Sagrado exposto) 2017Acrylic Painting, 2017Inspired by the favela's that overflow along the contours of Brazilian mountainsides, this urban landscape resembles the abundant geodes that jut out of the South American earth. Much like the exposed and exploited geological resources of Brazil, the oppressed communities of that nation are exploited and under appreciated, as they are pushed to the margin of society, forced to live in difficult terrains along the steep slopes of Brazilian cities.
